DIY Whiteboard / To Do List

 So this whiteboard frame has actually been on my to-do list for a while now. I've been doing lots of home decor-ish DIYs and we've got another one!

 You will need:

Any old photo frame + the glass

Spray paint / paint 

Whiteboard Markers!! (which I forgot)

I chose black for the spray paint because I've noticed that my room has been getting a bit too white, too sterile for my liking.

I also tried to find a frame that has a bit of detail so it'll catch the light and not look too flat.

 Paint the frame with 1 or 2 even coats and let it dry.

 Then I whipped up my to-do list on word because I'm pathetic at photoshop.

Note the clock; how cute / tacky of me.

Print it out, cut to size, slide it into your frame and you've got yourself a snazzy to-do list that might actually encourage you to get things done!

I would write "buy markers" on my list... if I any to begin with.

I really need to get myself sorted.

Word Boner

I'm almost finished putting up wall art around my room except I'm stuck for what I want directly above my desk. I think I definitely want it to be black & white but I can't decide if I want a motivational line, quote, extract or lyric etc
 One of my primary school teachers once commented that I "Think Outside The Box" and that phrase has resonated with me ever since so that one is a favourite of mine. I just don't think my parents are too keen about me painting on the walls so I have to find a way to get around that...

Wall Art

 During my big clean out, I found a small pile of really pretty wrapping papers & posters I've had for a while. They're not big enough to cover books so I thought, why not turn them into wall art?

 I found these horribly painted canvases in my room. I probably thought I was really artistic when I was 10, I'm like a cross between Rothko and Pollock....

 Anyway, back to business! I cut out a piece of wrapping paper (it was the centerfold of an ancient issue of Yen) just about an inch frame around the canvas.

 I used the canvas itself to fold creases into the paper and I cut parallel to one side to create a flap.

 I folded the flap of the paper into the corner and over the height of the canvas. (It's a bit like wrapping a present)

 I originally was going to glue it all down, but I decided to just use lots of sticky tape so I can change it whenever I get sick of looks at the same prints.

Finished product!!

White Room

Right now, I'm in the middle of cleaning up and reorganising my room. With the term "middle" used very lightly, as this is taking longer than I thought...

Call me boring, but I've noticed that lots of the pictures in my interior inspiration folder were based around white. Let's just call it classic, or timeless.

The problem: ipod, phone, camera cords everywhere!!

The solution; bulldog clips! 

I remember seeing this nifty idea a while back but I never needed it until now.

You will need bulldog clips that are big enough to clip onto your desk. I found about 3 different sized ones from my study and tried them all to see which ones fit.

 You'll need to open up the clip and feed the cables in.

Because the plug is bigger than the cable, it should stay put perfectly when you close the clip.

Not only are my cables more organised, they're now easier to find as well!

White Roses

During this VC Week, I've been spending a lot of time cleaning, re-organising and decorating my room. I decided that I need some more grown-up touches, so I made this white bouquet & vase display. I only chose white as it matched my cream coloured room but I saw some beautiful fake black & dark red roses which would look good in a living room space. (Also this is a 100% budget DIY, it cost me $20 altogether and I got most of it from one home store)

 You will need:

A vase

2 x 1m ribbon in complimenting colours

 2 matching bunches of fake white roses

 1 bunch of fake assorted white flowers

1 fake fern

 You'll need to spread the individual stems apart to make the bouquet look bigger & more lush

 I noticed that the leaves were all over the place so I pushed them all as high as they would go so more of the green will poke out from the vase

 You can start the arranging!

I put the two matching bunches in first

 Followed by the assorted one out at the front and the fern right at the back to frame the whole display

 I finished off the display with a bow.

I looped the two ribbons so I'll have a two toned bow.

To create the perfect bow, the trick is to do the bow upside down

 So I pulled the white ribbon from under the pink ribbon (instead of over like how you would normal tie your shoelaces)

Trim the ends of the ribbon (details, details!) 

Done! I love how the ribbon matches my perfumes (purely accidental!)
