Louis Vuitton SS12 Hair

I remember when Gossip Girl first came out about 4 or 5 years ago, I absolutely loved Blair Waldorf's style, (bitchiness) and her endless collection of headbands. Because jewelry wasn't allowed at school and my ears weren't pierced (wuss), I began buying headbands, ribbons and DIYing them until I ultimately got sick of them.

But recently I've been getting back into hair accessories in the form of floral pieces like this Pearled Daisy Chain and this Gold Petal Plated Rose Headband which I wore to Lana Del Rey (I might do a post later) and I haven't taken off since!
Similarly to those floral hair bands, these Louis Vuitton diamante headbands are so beautifully delicate.

I really admire the detail of the nude bra strap-like bands. I think they're supposed to prevent unsightly lumps and bumps but they look so much classier than the usual cheap black elastic you get. I'm sure you can whip this up with some diamante trim and nude elastic, and then use it to finish off a soft textured bun.

Sunglasses Chains

These are typically seen on nannas but sunglasses chains are actually so practical and are easily DIY-able.
The delicate onyx beaded gold chains on the Mia 2.0 sunglasses are my favourite but Rita Ora looks stylin' in her plain silver chain.

Black & White Text Art

Painting using Black Shoe Polish | Alisa Burke

I'm almost finished putting up wall art around my room except I'm stuck for what I want directly above my desk. I think I definitely want it to be black & white but I can't decide if I want a motivational line, quote, extract or lyric etc
One of my primary school teachers once commented that I "Think Outside The Box" and that phrase has resonated with me ever since so that one is a favourite of mine. I just don't think my parents are too keen about me painting on the walls so I have to find a way to get around that...

Contrast Piping

Simple piping can make any piece stand out, especially if it boldly contrasts, like fluros or black on paler shades. Strategically placed trim can create very flattering panels which is always major plus.
Best of all, is it DIY-able? Yes!

Bracelet Clutch

I'm actually in LOVE with these clutches with the cuff and chain. I think they look mycket cool and are much more reliable on a night out (they look pretty thief-proof).
The sleek Zara one with the square cuff is my favourite but these are all definitely DIY-able.
I think we can finally we can get rid of those horrible 90s-looking clutch straps!

DIY Boot Camp

I haven't been able to really DIY because exams are looming (this saturday in fact!!!) but I've found some DIY inspiration which can help revive some old boots for this winter.
Depending on the material of your boots, you could either dip the top in bleach (if it's a canvas-y material) or sponge-paint the boot black( if it's more of a plastic-y / leather material)

And finally these are my favourite; chain looped around the ankle of biker boots!

American Apparel Triangle Coin Purse

I saw this leather coin purse on American Apparel and I was blown away by the price, the simplicity and the uniqueness.
The images on the site can basically double as DIY instructions. All you'll need is a piece of scrap leather and snap closures. Leather is difficult to find and very expensive here in Sydney so I wouldn't mind pay the little $8 for the actual AA one. And since there's a proper AA section in Myer now, I easily go suss out for one without having to trek to Paddington!

P.S. If you can find a lot of material, you could use the same idea, but make a big triangle clutch too!

Cross Collars

Stitching crosses in the collar tips? Easy.

You will need:
Denim shirt (I used a jacket)
Needle
Thread

I threaded black thread through the needle and double knotted the loose ends. I then started sewing from behind the collar and diagonally across.

From underneath, I completed the cross and I went over it again to make it more noticeable.

I then double knotted the thread behind the collar and snipped of the extra.

Done!
This honestly took me less than 5 mins. I think I'm going to get myself some denim button downs and go a bit nuts. :)

Butterfly or Bat?

Michael Lo Sordo SS 12/13 at MBFWA | Marie Claire Yahoo

These photographical floral print dresses from Michael Lo Sordo remind me of Rorschach tests and those butterfly paintings you'd do at pre-school.

My favourite is definitely the white dress with the very flattering cinched-in waist. So with some pastel fabric paint, this could inspire some DIYs, non?

The staple ballet flats have been inspired by actual ballerinas now, more than ever. They have returned to the  nude pink with Monki's flats looking like pointe shoes and Chloe adding an elasticised crisscross ribbon.
And I'm loving them!

Leather Tube Necklaces

These leather tube necklaces are very simple yet chic. Not sure how to make them with leather but I think you can get a less professional DIY version by rolling up some jersey fabric into a tube.
These are from a Chinese website so I'm a bit lost in translation but you can check them out here

And here's something a little similar from Lana Del Rey from a Spanish Vogue Forum
